2.5 mile stroll along River Avon and surrounding countryside. Followed by an optional BBQ and raffle at Kirkmichael Green Hall. A great chance for residents and visitors to chat and share experiences

A 2.5-mile stroll, beginning along the River Avon, before following a gentle climb through farmland and to the moorland at the foot of the Cromdale Hills.

Pre-Covid this was an annual event and it would be great to get it back with a mix of visitors to the area and residents of the Tomintoul and Glenlivet area. A great chance to chat and share knowledge of the area while wandering through a beautiful mix of scenery and looking for wildlife.

The Kirkmichael Green Hall is throwing a BBQ and Raffle afterwards starting at 4 pm with everyone welcome.

Lying between the Ladder Hills and the Cromdale Hills in the Cairngorms National Park, the two broad straths of the rivers Avon and Livet form the 23,000 hectare Glenlivet Estate, part of Crown Estate Scotland. The Crown Estate acquired the Glenlivet Estate in 1937 which today comprises over 30 let farms, 1500 acres of commercial forests and a sporting tenancy including grouse moors, salmon fishing and deer stalking. Over the last 25 years, the Estate has encouraged the development of recreation and tourism, welcoming a wide range of visitors who come to explore and enjoy the countryside, helping support local businesses and the tourism economy. The Estate provides a visitor centre, a range of educational services, an extensive network of walking trails and a dedicated mountain bike centre.
