Join The Findhorn Dunes Trust, a charity set up by gift in 2000, to explore and discover the importance of the 175 acres of dunes along the Moray coast.

This year, we will walk around the Trust’s boundary to show you the work we are doing to limit the growth of non-native trees, which hinder the Dunes’ biological diversity. We will include the beach, which will be at low tide at 17.43 hrs, and the dune heath, including overgrown areas, all the way South towards the wind turbines.

You’ll see and hear about the flora (lichens, pines, invasive trees, etc.), the archaeology (Bronze Age, Fishing, WW2), the landscape (erosion, raised beaches, delicate surfaces), the challenges (vehicles, fires, dogs out of control, litter, etc.), and the fauna (birds, insects, and rabbits). Sunset is at 22.18 hrs and we’re hoping for super views across the Firth.
