Join us for a Midsummer Evening stroll exploring the history and mythology of pilgrimages to the sacred Well of St Mary’s on the Orton Estate, Fochabers.

We’ll explore the rich history of pilgrimages to the sacred Well, renowned for its mystical healing powers. Immerse yourself in the intriguing folklore of plants, uncovering the stories and myths that animate the vibrant world of flora.

This relaxing and unique experience provides an opportunity to connect with nature and history, inspired by HB Mackintosh’s 1924 book, Pilgrimages in Moray. This walk is part of the Moray Way Association’s AIM, Artist-in-Residence programme featuring artist Hayley Anderson and regular festival walk leader, Kath Todd.

The AIM collective was started by Dance North Scotland, Moray Arts Development Engagement (M:ADE),  Wildbird and the Moray Way Association. The group has been employing a new and radical approach to engaging a network of creative practitioners and communities within Moray through a residency programme that initially supported eight artist residencies from 2021 to 2022. Further funding has allowed the collective to employ further artists in 2023 and 2024.
