Lossiemouth Harbours Past to Present
Wed, 17 June 2026 @ 18:30 - 20:00

More tickets released! Step back through centuries of maritime history on this relaxed evening walk around Lossiemouth’s historic harbour, where fascinating stories, historic photos and hidden heritage bring the town’s seafaring past vividly to life.
Starting at the mural wall at the northern end of Lossiemouth, join us for a relaxed and informative evening walk exploring the town’s rich maritime history.
During the walk, we’ll visit the promenade—once the site of Lossiemouth’s original 14th-century harbour and the old railway station. From there, we’ll continue around the “new” harbour, constructed in the 19th century, making our way to the light beacon. The route then leads back along the harbour, passing the museum, the harbour office (beside the old fish sheds), and the former lighthouse station.
Along the way, you’ll hear fascinating stories about:
• Lossiemouth’s first natural harbour
• The development and expansion of the new harbour
• The town’s fishing industry
The walk will include regular stops, with photos to bring the past to life. At the end of the walk, there will be an optional opportunity to visit the Lossiemouth Fisheries & Community Museum, run by dedicated volunteers, which will be exclusively opened for us until 20:30 that night:
This is an easy, leisurely walk suitable for all, with limited places available. If you’d like to discover more about Lossie’s harbour heritage, be sure to book your spot!
