There are countless hidden clues out in the natural world: how a tree’s shape can help you find your way, the story in a patch of lichens or a badger’s track, the blackbird’s alarm call telling you there’s a tawny owl roosting nearby … and much more. Learning the art of nature detection enriches our time outdoors and gives us a better understanding and appreciation of the many species we live alongside.
