Followed by a route along the old military road through Scots pine woodland to the famous River Spey and Old Spey Bridge. Recounting tales of past events and local characters\, the walk will return by a different route to the High St and Square. \n  \nJohn Halliday is a local Scottish Tourist Guides Association Green Badge guide for the Northern Highlands. Local to Grantown\, his family have lived in the area for centuries. He regularly leads walks in and around Grantown and has written three books on Strathspey placenames\, myths and legends.

A circular walk around the loch\, which is famous for its connections with the Wolf of Badenoch and the island castle. Learn about the kelpies and fairies\, the location of the novel ‘The Key Above the Door’ and the social history of the people who lived on the Dava moor. If the weather is favourable\, the views extend from the Cairngorms to Ben Rinnes\, Ben Wyvis and Morven in Caithness. A walk with so much to offer.
