DESCRIPTION:A history of the heritage of the Estate\, how this relates to today’s landscape and what the future may hold.\nLearn about the biodiversity of the site\, the conservation undertaken and reasons for this\, how the team maintain the historical links\, about wildlife on the Estate\, what has changed in processes and techniques\, what can be learnt from the past and how our actions help shape the future. \nYou will also get an insight into the features\, designs and place names on the Estate\, geology of the area\, information on discoveries during National Trust for Scotland archaeological digs and the links the Estate has with other places in the area and to historical events.

DESCRIPTION:A stroll around historic Auldearn: Rather than following a time-line\, we’ll dip in and out of various events from the long history of the village\, once briefly of higher status than neighbour Nairn; also link back wherever possible to Clan Brodie. \nScottish kings\, a Royal castle and rebellion; a key battle of the religious civil war between Covenanters and Royalists\, and its aftermath; the coming of St Colm (St Colomba) and Christianity to Northern Pictland; and the confessions of Isobel Gowdie\, that provide one of the most comprehensive insights into European witchcraft. \n‘Auld (old) Eren’ has many gripping tales to tell. \n  \nBrodie Castle and Estate is part of the National Trust for Scotland. The Boath Doocot at Auldearn is also part of their collection of over 100 places across Scotland which the Trust takes care of to protect and preserve for future generations. \nBrodie Castle and Estate volunteers: walk ‘producer’\, Gordon Scott\, and experienced guide\, Gareth Nicholas\nBrodie Castle and Estate staff will also be in attendance.
