Glimpsing the Ancient Caledonian Forest

Fri, 19 June 2020 @ 13:00 - 16:00

A fascinating and beautiful walk set in varied woodland by the river Findhorn, deep in ancient Darnaway forest. Guided by a qualified and experienced biologist/naturalist to understand this fascinating range of ecosystems.

Explore one of Moray’s hidden gems, the Dunearn walks, situated deep in the forest of Darnaway.  We will explore along a good, but occasionally muddy, path through ancient woodland hardly touched by man in places and learn about how the forest has changed and evolved over the last ten thousand years. A winding walk with decent ups and downs, though not long it is quite steep in places. The terrain is varied and generally breathtaking, with clifftop views out over the Findhorn river gorge, upside tributaries and through dense woods.
